French Quarter time.

BLACKENED: Coops Place burger
While we're all waiting for a thaw here in Central Arkansas, I thought I might direct you towards twoNew Orleans eateries I experienced right before I took off on my cruise last month.
I adore Coop's Place. It's a little stop on Decatur I make a point to visit every time I'm down that way. Usually I go for smoked duck quesadillas or the lamb riblets, but this time around I covered the po'boy style burger offered there for Serious Eats. It's cooked through and served on a French roll and I am all about some of that action.
Unfortunately, not every New Orleans restaurant is awesome, as I have sadly come to realize forFelix's Restaurant. Location seems to be the main reason why this so-so spot on the corner of Bourbon and Iberville has managed to survive for decades — especially in its location across the street from the ACME Oyster House. I won't be fooled again.
