Dropping in at The Dock in Providence, Louisiana.

When we make our trips south to New Orleans, Jackson or anywhere in that region of the nation, we usually find ourselves hungry about three hours from home. Fortunately, there's Lake Providence, and there's The Dock.

Many a times have we stopped at this little joint right alongside the lake. It's a pretty place to see the cypress trees and feel the breeze and get out of the car and stretch.

I rather enjoy the po'boys there (one of the few places on the north end of our route where we find them) but I also dig the stuffed crabs. A couple of those and a Dr. Pepper and I am doing just swell.

Best of all, if you're on a boat, you're in even better luck.  Not only does The Dock serve food, it also serves gas for boats off its dock. See? The Dock? Get it?

If you're not in the mood for seafood, there's also Subway, and there's cold soda and beer available.
