Want to enjoy an experience from the past? Hit the road and savor a weekend at the Tall Pines Inn, a restored historic cabin-style motorcourt hotel on the west side of Eureka Springs.
Tall Pines Inn was first opened in 1947 to serve the waves of travelers
getting out onto America’s roadways after World War II. The original owners were Philip and Alice Nordquist, who moved to Eureka Springs along with their daughter, Edna, and granddaughter Donna Ann. The Nordquists named the place Tall Pines for the many trees on the site and for the logs used in the construction of the original cottages. The original six cottages and the Nordquist residence (which today houses three rental units) have been named to the National Historic Register.
The property retains its unique allure, with mid-century furnishings in each cottage and the original layouts for the original cottages. There are more modern units on site, but it’s really cool to experience a night in the smaller historic units.
They’re not too small. They’re very comfortable, actually. The same pine logs that make up the exterior are also the interior (logs are thick!) and big glass windows bring the light inside. Each unit has its own climate control system, and some have wood burning stoves as well. The cottages are big enough for king sized beds and a couple of recliners, plus a vintage dresser. Bathrooms are
small but equipped with showers, and there’s a coffee maker right at hand.
Want to really kick back and enjoy yourself in vintage style? Take advantage of amenities
such as charcoal grills, hammocks and horseshoe pits. There’s even a heated pool on-property for a pleasant dip.
You’re also very close to several great restaurants such as
KJ’s Caribe and the Bavarian Inn and not far from Thorncrown Chapel and the
Blue Spring Heritage Center

I am glad to hear about other hotels in Eureka Springs. Everyone always thinks of the Crescent Hotel when they think of Eureka Springs so it is nice to hear about another historic place to hang your hat.
