  1. Dear Miss Kat,

Everyone here in north central Arkansas is thrilled that you and the Pie Festival will return to Cherokee Village on 16 April! I am writing in the hope that you're going to be in this area for preparations and advance publicity activities.

You see, for well over 50 years now, the used book sales hosted by Friends of Hardy Library have distributed affordable books back into the community. All proceeds from the sales provide funding for special literacy programs, and also keep the little book boxes throughout the area filled with reading materials.

The upcoming ‘Not Your Usual Used Book Sale’ will be held at our new venue, Hardy Civic Center, on Saturday, April 9th, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This, by the way, marks the grand finale of National Library Week. Hardy Civic Center is huge, so we have invited the Spring River Artists’ Guild to join us with a fund-raising artworks and miscellany section.

All that to ask if you might consider participating in our Areawide Authors book signing which will be featured in the front lobby of the civic center. Whether you’re able to meet and greet your fans for an hour, or for the better part of the day, you will be featured in all social media to which we are connected, the local press, and regional event calendars. We will happily provide a table and chair(s), additional setup requirements, and refreshments from some of Hardy’s fine establishments.

Friends of Hardy Library and our patrons will be very grateful for support like yours. I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

    Best wishes,
    Mary DeWitt
