Arkansas Food: The A to Z of Eating in The Natural State.

You may have been wondering why Tie Dye Travels has been quiet as of late. An eleven year project based on the idea of defining our state's definitive dishes and traditions is about to come to fruition, in the form of a new book. Take a look inside Arkansas Food.

The cat is out of the bag. I've been working on a book that will finally answer the question "what is Arkansas Food?" for the past few months. It's required a lot of digging through archives, both my own and those throughout the state. It's meant quiet traveling to different locations to shoot elements of our native cuisine. I've spent days writing, shooting, editing and laying out this rather massive project.

It's almost ready. And let me tell you what - I thought Another Slice of Arkansas Pie was going to be the toughest job I've done. Arkansas Food: The A to Z of Eating in The Natural State has been far more intensive, thanks to the grand variety of consumable items you can find here in Arkansas. Shooting all these items has taken much time. Coming up with what should go in and what shouldn't has been extraordinarily difficult.

As the book nears the homestretch, with the research done and layout well underway, I am ready to share some of the elements with you. These pages may look slightly different once the book goes to print - but this should give you a good idea of what will be inside.  Click on the images to see a larger version.

So here's your opportunity. I am offering a limited number of first edition copies available by advance order. These books should land in your mailbox this December. If you'd like to purchase Arkansas Food: The A to Z of Eating in The Natural State, click this special PayPal link. It will take you to a direct page where you can order.

I appreciate your patronage, and hope you're just as excited about Arkansas Food as I am.
