Restaurants That Make Holiday Dinners For You in Arkansas.

Here's a growing list of places around the state of Arkansas where you can pick up your Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other holiday dinner with all the fixings - so you don't have to cook.

Every year I'm approached by individuals who want to give their families a taste of Arkansas - or who just don't want to cook. Here's a quick guide to places where you can pick up meats, sides and pies.

Burge's in the Heights is Arkansas's idea of smoked turkey - and over the course of the holidays thousands will order the birds (along with ham, chicken and duck) to be delivered to their homes. However, locals know to reserve their own turkey to pick up from the R Street eatery - along with plenty of sides, including turnip greens with bacon, green beans with bacon, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, cranberry relish, potato salad and baked beans.
Order a pie from Burge's: Well, no, unless you want to pick up some fried pies. No worries - other places have great pies to pick up.

Capitol Smokehouse downtown has its own array of holiday offerings to share, including Southern Comfort Ham and slow smoked turkey, both of which are smoked over apple and pecan wood. The sides include the restaurant's popular fresh squash casserole, candied sweet potatoes, au gratin potatoes, cornbread dressing with giblet gravy, macaroni and cheese, broccoli cheese casserole, green bean casserole, seasoned green beans, buttered corn and more.
Order a pie from Capitol Smokehouse: The pie here is pecan.
Other desserts: Candy says the banana pudding is the real winner here. Gooey butter cake, cherry cheese delight and fruit cobblers are also available.

Classic Turkey Dinners include cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, and pumpkin pie - or you can shake things up and go with sliced turkey, roast beef or ham. Sides include the restaurant's famed eggplant casserole, candied sweet potatoes, seasoned green beans and macaroni and cheese.
Order a pie from Franke's. In addition to the signature, found nowhere else cinnamon cream, you can pick up a whole egg custard, Karo nut pecan, sweet potato, chocolate cream, apple, sweet potato coconut, brownie, coconut cream or pumpkin pie for your table.
