Breakfast on the Lake at The English Muffin in Hot Springs.

Searching for breakfast with a great view in Hot Springs?  The English Muffin sits right off Lake Hamilton, and has a lot to offer.


Open since 1992, the restaurant along Highway 7 specializes in breakfast anytime, with a few lunch offerings such as burgers, soup and sandwich combinations and catfish on Fridays.

Its menu celebrates the English muffin, in this case Wolferman’s muffins shipped in several times a week. They come in flavors you might not have considered for an English muffin, far more than white and whole wheat and raisin. On any particular day, you might find sourdough, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, chocolate chip, cranberry citrus, garlic herb, jalapeno cheddar, multi-grain honey and even pumpkin spice English muffins.  Any and all are good and are served with butter and your jelly or honey of choice.

English muffins come with all sorts of one, two and three egg breakfasts, eggs served your way with a choice of chicken fried steak, ribeye steak, bacon, sausage, Canadian bacon, pork chops or grilled chicken.  They also come to the table alongside the other specialty The English Muffin is known for – omelets.  The omelets served here are fat and fluffy.  You can get yours filled with several different options, including spinach, sausage, broccoli, cheese, ham, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions or peppers.

Or you can choose my favorite and go for the seafood omelet.  Instead of cheese, these omelets are full of Alfredo sauce and chunks of crabmeat and shrimp, and they are absolutely divine.

For your side item, you have a choice of grits, hashbrowns, a fruit cup or the home fries – and you should definitely consider those home fries.  These skillet-sauteed potatoes with onions and bell peppers are succulent and tasty.
