Upon exiting, my friends and I saw a sign that advertised of all things, a cornbread sandwich. We were too curious to pass it up.<BR/>I had the original with turkey and the chicken and dumplings. My 3 lady friends had various cornbreads, meats, and the stewp.<BR/>There was no talking when our food arrived. Like you, we were all expecting the cornbread to fall apart and in need of a fork to finish our meal. That never happened. Because of family ties, I am in Jefferson at least twice a year, and I am expected to bring many of those sandwiches, stewp, and dumpling dishes back to Houston.
